Leather Care Guide
LEATHER CARE GUIDE
HAXRAN pieces are made across a range of leather and outerwear constructions, including leather and shearling. Because materials vary by piece, the guidance below is general — always check the specific material of your HAXRAN piece before applying any treatment, and when in doubt, consult a leather specialist.
EVERYDAY CARE
Leather responds well to simple, consistent care. Keep your piece away from prolonged direct sunlight and heat, which can dry and fade leather over time.
Wipe away surface dust with a soft, dry cloth after wear.
CLEANING
For light marks, use a soft, slightly damp cloth and allow the leather to air dry naturally.
Always test any leather-care product on an inconspicuous area first, to see how the leather responds before applying it more widely.
For anything beyond a light surface clean, we recommend consulting a leather specialist rather than treating the piece at home.
CONDITIONING
Leather benefits from conditioning to help keep it supple over time.
As with cleaning, test any conditioning product on an inconspicuous area first, and always follow the product's own instructions.
RAIN & MOISTURE
Leather can tolerate light exposure to rain, but should be left to dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources such as radiators or heaters.
Avoid using a hairdryer or other direct heat to speed up drying, as this can damage the leather.
STORAGE
Store your HAXRAN piece on a supportive hanger that holds the shoulders in shape.
Avoid storing leather in plastic for long periods — leather needs to breathe, so a breathable garment bag is preferable.
SUEDE & SHEARLING
Suede and shearling require different care to smooth leather. Both are more sensitive to moisture and staining, so extra care should be taken to protect them from rain and spills.
A specialist suede brush can help lift light surface marks, but as with all our pieces, we recommend consulting a leather specialist for anything beyond light, everyday care.
HARDWARE & ZIPS
Wipe zips and hardware with a soft, dry cloth to keep them clean and moving smoothly.
Avoid excessive force when fastening zips or poppers, and make sure the garment is properly aligned before doing so.
WHEN TO USE A LEATHER SPECIALIST
For deeper cleaning, staining, significant water exposure or any repair, we recommend taking your HAXRAN piece to a professional leather specialist rather than treating it at home.
If you're ever unsure how to care for your specific piece, HAXRAN Concierge is happy to help.
